Four variants, one sourcing logic
The loafer's variants are defined by the detail across the vamp. The penny loafer carries a saddle strap with a slot; the horsebit sets a metal bar detail at the instep; the tassel loafer finishes the vamp with paired tassels; and the driving loafer relaxes the make for casual wear. The 26 series covers all four, which lets a single program span the classic and casual ends of the category without changing supplier.
Because they slip on without laces, loafers trade a measure of formality for ease of wear.
